Landfills represent an important nexus in our ecosystem both for non-hazardous and for hazardous wastes. Management of landfill liquids is an important part of operating a landfill, and one of the biggest sources is leachate – the precipitation that flows through the landfill, picking up moisture and contaminants along the way. Often, these contaminants include PFAS. This is increasingly becoming a concern for regulators from an environmental and safety point of view.
Onvector’s technology is able to work with other processes within a leachate treatment system. In some cases, Iit’s a two-part process. The first technology (e.g., reverse osmosis or foam fractionation) takes the high volume of leachate and isolates the impurities, so that the treated water can be discharged.
