Urban WWTP - Environmental

Applications :

• To detect toxicity risks,before discharge of the treated water back in its natural environment. Done at the end of the treatment cycle.
• Upstream and/or downstream of a working treatment plant in order to evaluate its efficiency

Success Stories :

• Proof of concept studied on an experimental chain (French Bouiillides’ WWTP)
• In a shared project carried by SAUR R&D and co-financed by the AERMC (Rhone Mediteranean Corsica Water Agency), there were two ToxMate installed in order to measure the efficiency of a device developed to reduce micropollutants on site. The advantage compared to more classical means of measurements, such as chemical analysis, is its capacity to be instantaneous and live, whereas other means may take several days up to several months for results. 

Moreover, ToxMate highlighted, in real time, events that were not identified by usual detection means initially (those events were confirmed to be true at a later stage).
