Offshore wind and oil and gas operators require continuous monitoring to get as much data into a central location to analyze the structural integrity of their platforms and determine remaining asset life. Operators do not have easy access to this data today and require teams of divers or ROVs to retrieve data and visually assess integrity, causing unnecessary downtime, potential health and safety risks, and delays in acquiring dynamic data. Installed cable or acoustic and optical wireless systems may snap, provide degraded signals or not function at all in ambient light, turbid or choppy waters.
Both oil and gas and offshore wind farms require ruggedized systems for challenging offshore environments, as well as solutions that integrate with standard sensors, and communication and electrical interfaces. These systems must attach to a wide variety of floating or stationary platforms, structures, buoys, piles, pipelines, mooring lines, etc. above, on and below the water.
