General Electric - Macallen engine overhaul facility - Case Study

The Problem

General Electric`s Macallen facility overhauls Aviation engines. Some of the operations require welding, grinding, and deburring of parts. To ensure the workers well being, GE set forth requirements of a custom downdraft table. DiversiTech travelled to McAllen, Texas to meet with the project representatives to better understand their needs and propose the right solution.
 
The Solution

DiversiTech designed a downdraft workstation that is fitted with a back draft hood as well as an articulated capture arm. The table has electrical actuators that allow for table height adjustments to better suit workers of varying height.
