PEWE Hobart Bros Case Study
Hobart Brothers was incorporated in 1917 by Charles Clarence (C.C.) Hobart, along with his wife, Lou Ella, and their three sons, Edward, Charles and William. In 1925, it produced its first welder, which started Hobart Brothers on the path to becoming a preeminent company in the welding industry. Hobart Brothers out grew it’s old manufacturing facility and was relocated to a larger space among its many satellite buildings. The old wastewater treatment system had shortcomings which just needed to be addressed.
PEWE provided a completely new wastewater treatment process. The new system entailed dual lift stations for acid and alkaline streams with EQ balance tanks, pH control, flow proportional PEWE PolyAccu Dose chemical feed, a stainless steel PEWE HD2 XLRator DAF, DeWater Systems belt filter press. Final polishing of the water was achieved with a multimedia filter. PEWE also provided Rogue TRS-200S trash pumps and level controls.
The PolyAccu Dose LD-10D chemical feed station coupled with pH control package provides very consistent and flexible dosing of coagulant and polymer to the DAF system whenever irregular and un-predicted spikes occur.
