Procter & Gamble - Modular wastewater technology provides flexibility - Case Study

Procter & Gamble built a new shampoo factory in Urlati, Romania, at an approximate cost of 50 million euro. The new wastewater treatment plant cleans the wastewater that is contaminated with organic substances and zinc, so that it can be discharged into the municipal wastewater system.

The multi-step process was developed on the basis of laboratory tests and consists of Envochem® physico-chemical treatment as well as Biomar® biological treatment. The wastewater treatment plant was implemented as an expandable modular EnviModul concept. All the process technology was prefabricated in the form of modules and only the necessary concrete tanks had to be constructed at the customer’s site. The decisive factors for the customer included, in particular, the extent of prefabrication and high standard of quality as well as the minimal amount of construction and assembly work required locally at the site.
