Southwest Gas maintains natural gas transmission and distribution networks deep in the Mojave Desert that ultimately serve hundreds of thousands. Corroded steel pipes can be the cause of system failure and costly outages in natural gas transmission and distribution networks. To close the gap between inspections, they determined a need for a reliable remote monitoring system and conducted due diligence and pilots with several competing technologies.
