It`s extended again! On May 16, 2007, the deadline to revise SPCC plans was extended again by EPA. Existing facilities, with no changes to spill potential (i.e. changes in oil usage or site drainage), may amend and implement their plans by July 1, 2009. This extension provides facilities the opportunity to take advantage of the additional flexibility provided by the revisions of December 2006. These latest revisions include: (1) self-certification for qualified facilities using less than 10,000 gallons, (2) the use of active measures rather than engineered secondary containment for mobile refuelers, and (3) alternative use of rapid spill detection and contingency planning in lieu of general secondary containment for oil-filled operational equipment. Contact us to request a copy of ENSR`s summary of EPA`s recent regulatory changes to the SPCC regulations. It is a one-page summary, followed by a three-page table, which provides details of the updates as compared to the original requirements. We will also send you a brief introduction to ENSR`s SPCC and Facility Response Planning services. Thank you for your interest in ENSR`s SPCC Update and good luck with your revisions!
