Anti-Microbial
Apyron - Model MB2000 - Anti-Microbial
Apyron has devoted several years to demonstrating and developing an antimicrobial technology to defend against both disease causing and nuisance microorganisms. Apyron`s MB2000 technology allows the synthesis of known antimicrobial agents such as Copper, Silver, Manganese, and Zinc with various support materials to create an innovative line of chemical media than can be used to purify water in large centralized treatment facilities, point-of-use (POU) devices, point-of-entry (POE) applications, and industrial process waters. Our microbial inhibitors are an ideal pretreatment to activated carbon filtration, membrane and ion exchange processes to prevent fouling and extend process life. They can be employed in a variety of fixed bed or filtration devices for aqueous and air applications.
Adsorbent - For Arsenic Removal
Aqua-Bind - Model MP - Arsenic Removal Cartridges
Apyron arsenic removal cartridges offer the ideal solution for removing toxic arsenic from municipally treated water for POU applications. Aqua-Bind MP granular media packaged within the cartridges is the active adsorbent that removes arsenic from drinking water. The use of these cartridges eliminates problems associated with handling bulk media. The arsenic removal cartridges are currently available in standard 2.5x10-inch, 4.5x10-inch, and 4.5x20-inch upflow configurations and are designed to fit in standard pressure-rated housings. These products can treat a wide range of arsenic (III) and (V) concentrations. Individual water quality is usually considered in determining the size and number of cartridges required for treatment. Cartridges are easy to install for either under-the-counter or basement installations and are ideal as post treatment to whole-household water softeners or as a stand-alone system.
Aqua-Bind - Model EP - Arsenic Removal Media
Aqua-Bind EP is a broad spectrum granular chemical adsorptive medial designed for arsenic, fluoride, and heavy metal removal from water and wastewater. Apyron`s Aqua-Bind EP is an enhanced alumina composite that exhibits a wide range of performance in removing arsenic, as well as fluoride, lead, copper, and other metals from potable water, industrial process streams, and groundwater remediation applications. Aqua-Bind EP granular media is ideal for use in conventional Point-of-Use (POU) devices and cartridges, Point-of-Entry (POE) fiberglass tanks, or conventional pressure vessels for adsorption. Regeneration options are available if desired based on the application. Spent media can typically be discarded as non-hazardous solid waste.
Aqua-Bind - Model MP - Arsenic Removal Media
Aqua-Bind MP is a new adsorption media custom designed for the removal of arsenic (III) and (V) from water and wastewater. Apyron`s patented composite technology has been designed for use in Point-of-Entry (POE) and Point-of-Use (POU) applications. The product is also ideal for whole-household treatment where iron co-exists with arsenic. Multiple contaminants can be removed simultaneously with the unique catalyst-based technology that promotes co-precipitation and removal. Aqua-Bind MP has a low bulk density, requiring little energy for efficient backwashing. It requires no chemical regeneration, has a long bed life, and operates over a wide temperature range. The product is a great companion to conventional water softeners and can be utilized or retrofitted into conventional water treatment tanks or vessels. Spent media can typically be discarded as non-hazardous solid waste. This material has been certified under NSF 61 for use in drinking water applications.
Adsorbent - For Lead Removal
Aqua-Bind - Model FD - Lead Removal Media
Aqua-Bind FD & FDS media are unique metal oxide-based adsorption products engineered by Apyron scientists specifically for lead removal from water and wastewater. Highly activated metal oxide composites have been synthesized using Apyron`s proprietary binder technology to create a material with enhanced pore, surface and chemical properties for superior lead removal. Multifunctional composite particles can include several different combinations of metal oxides to target customized adsorption needs for specific applications. The FD granular product is designed for cartridge or pressure vessel applications, whereas the FDS is formulated as a powder, uniquely sized and manufactured for point-of-use (POU) treatment devices where high efficiency lead reduction is required. Other suitable applications include industrial metal finishing, specialty water treatment and environmental remediation.
Adsorbent - For Fluoride
Aqua-Bind - Fluoride Removal Media
Aqua-Bind FLUORIDE is an effective chemical adsorption media designed specifically for fluoride removal from water and wastewater. Apyron`s Aqua-Bind FLUORIDE is a hybrid metal oxide produced with Apyron`s patented technology resulting in a material with superior performance and capacity over conventional ion exchange and activated alumina products. It exhibits selectivity in the presence of competing ions with good kinetics over a broad operating range. Applications include a wide array of industrial, municipal, environmental, and consumer applications (POE / POU) for potable and non-potable water. Aqua-Bind FLUORIDE can be utilized or retrofitted easily into conventional water treatment equipment or vessels. Regeneration options are available based on the application. The material has been certified for use in drinking water applications under NSF Standard 61.

Aqua-Bind - Model MP-2010-IL and MP-2508-IL - Post-Ro Arsenic Cartridges
Up to 30% of all residential Reverse Osmosis systems are sold to private well-owners, where Arsenic (III) is most prevalent:
Alhough efficient in removing many contaminants, RO does not effectively remove Arsenic (III) from drinking water. In addition, RO’s ability to remove Arsenic (V) decreases as the membrane ages.
Apyron - Arsenic Test Kit
As many as 56 million people in the United States may be drinking water which contains unsafe levels of arsenic. Long-term exposure to arsenic can lead to cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and hormone functions regulating a wide range of biological processes. As a new lower standard for arsenic in drinking water is debated — with compliance cost issues at the forefront of the debate — a majority of Americans (65 percent) said they would be willing to pay for a home water treatment device to remove arsenic if it were present in their drinking water. Water treatment professionals can help consumers determine their need for an arsenic treatment device, by initiating the testing process. Once a system is installed, the arsenic test kit also can be used to verify performance.
Apyron - Arsenic Treatment Unit
Arsenic contaminated drinking water is potentially poisoning 200 million people in India and Bangladesh, causing an international health crisis. While the effects of arsenic can be reversed at an early stage, long-term exposure can lead to death. Studies have shown that 1 in 10 people exposed to arsenic levels above 500 ppb may ultimately die from cancers caused by arsenic including lung, bladder, and skin cancers (A. Smith, World Health Organization, 2000). The origin of this crisis occurred in the 1970`s when tubewells were installed to provide microbiologically safe groundwater as a means of preventing mortality from gastrointestinal disease caused by consuming contaminated surface water.
