Algae Treatment Services
Industry-standard products are applied to ponds which have excessive algal growth. ILM works to minimize the concentration and frequency of treatment. Chelating agents are used in accordance with guidelines established by the Illinois Water Survey. All chemicals used by ILM are EPA registered and safe for aquatic use. It is desirable to limit the concentration and frequency of treatment since algal populations can develop resistance to treatment through time. A legal limit of 1ppm of copper can be added to a body of water during any given week.
Minor Trash Removal Services
During a scheduled service visit ILM technicians will remove minor trash from the shoreline (2ft. into the water and 5ft. onto the land). This service is performed in an effort to improve the health and aesthetics of a pond. Every effort will be made to collect all visible trash; however we cannot guarantee complete removal of all garbage in the area. “Minor Trash removal” is considered a 5gallon bucket of material per pond. Upon request a comprehensive trash removal proposal can be provided.
Manual Removal Services
ILM has specialized equipment to perform plant removal in and around the water. Landscaping wastes can be disposed of at the property or removed to a certified composting site. The equipment used, and effort required during a manual removal is dictated by the amount and type of material to be removed. Manuals are priced accordingly. ILM currently offers removal of algae, garbage, dead fish, dead cattail stalks, plant debris, and certain aquatic plants.
Herbicide Treatments Services
The use of aquatic herbicides is not a `routine` operation. Treatments are done with the utmost concern for safety; to the applicators, to the client, and to the natural surroundings. Special clothing and protective gear are worn by applicators. Notice in the form of ground flags are posted after treatments. The flags include date of treatment, name and EPA Registration number of the chemical, and any water use restrictions. Both the label and the Material Safety Data Sheets are available upon request provided. Applications are made by personnel who have passed State of Illinois pesticide certification tests for Applicators and Operators. ILM`s Commercial Applicators License (CA 9792172) is issued in the name of the owner, Keith Gray.
