With membranes, a high quality drinking water. Some municipalities are lucky enough to be able to distribute untreated spring water. We recommend they go on taking great care of their source protection areas. Many water sources are however contaminated with germs, and often have excessive turbidity. This type of problem is common for karstic springs, but it is also encountered in surface waters issuing from lakes and rivers, or in sources which are fed by surface water.

The problem of “red water”, linked to the corrosion of drinking water networks, is not easy to understand because it depends on the interaction of several physico-chemical parameters of the water distributed. It is not uncommon to observe that the mixture of two waters with a calco-carbonic balance produces corrosive water.
