Health research is our largest single field of study, encompassing research that ranges from studies of the human genome and the development of new drug compounds to national surveys of health behaviors and the implementation of global health programs. Building on our extensive research expertise and working with staff members at RTI Health Solutions, our commercial subsidiary, we form multidisciplinary teams to meet the special needs of our clients. For more than 50 years, statistics research has been one of our primary specialties. Our statisticians, epidemiologists, and biostatisticians conduct complex statistical analyses to support wide ranging research programs in both laboratory and social sciences. Our statistical experts ensure the quality, validity, and reliability of our research products and results by applying quality control and assurance procedures from sampling design through data collection and analysis. In addition, our statisticians developed and maintain SUDAAN, a widely used software package for analyzing cluster-correlated and selection-sensitive data.

Our experts in economics, demography, health, education, urban planning, and public financing are well qualified to study the wide range of issues in economic and social policy facing our society. Our multidisciplinary research teams provide policy makers with independent, objective insights regarding a variety of public policies and private sector concerns.

Our engineers help clients achieve their goals through the identification, development, application, and transfer of leading-edge technologies. We have proven capabilities to successfully execute early- and late-stage R&D programs, and to lead programs from initial R&D to prototyping to commercialization. We have a pipeline of new technologies and actively seek to partner with industry to develop them into valuable assets. We assemble multi-functional teams, drawing on our engineering staff of both new graduates and experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, as well as our close working relationships with industrial, academic, and national laboratories. We are an industry leader in applying innovative computer technology and software systems to statistics, health, and social research. We use information technology to support national surveys, statistical analyses, clinical trials, community-based research, program evaluations, and other research projects.
