Metagenomics Services
The term metagenomics has been defined as “The study of DNA from uncultured organisms” (Jo Handelsman). A genome is the entire genetic information of one organism, whereas a metagenome is the entire genetic information of an ensemble of organisms. It is a culture-independent tool for studying bacterial, viral, fungal or eukaryotic communities and can be divided in two main categories.

Research & Development Services
The R&D activity at the Seqomics Biotechnology Ltd. involves both the development of new products as well as collaborative and contract projects for academic and industrial partners. Our research focuses on the development of methods and kits for food safety, veterinary and agricultural applications. We are specifically interested in the metagenomic characterization of microbial communities in wastewater plants, biogas and fermentation reactors, in the discovery of novel molecular markers that may be used in diagnostics as biomarkers, and in the molecular biology assisted breeding.
