SKZ services

In order to ensure that permanently products of impeccable quality are put on the market, suitability tests, functioning factory production controls and in many cases also third-party inspections by neutral testing laboratories and certification bodies are necessary. The SKZ is a type-A inspection body accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020 ensuring the quality of production processes and supervising for example building sites. Our activities cover a wide range of products, such as pipes and pipe systems, plastic window profiles, geosynthetics, roofing membranes, foils, synthetic turfs, WPC products and sealants.

The product certification body of the SKZ – Testing GmbH is accredited according to the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013 standard. Thus, it has proved its competence to certify products, processes and services in the fields of geosysnthetics/geotextiles, flexible sheets for waterproofing, joint sealants, waterproofing of roofs and roof systems as well as the relevant factory production control. In accordance with the EU Regulation no. 305/2011 stipulating harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products (EU Construction Products Regulation), as from 1 July 2013 the accreditation of the product certification body is a prerequisite for operating as a notified certification body within the scope of the CE marking of construction products.

Every year we prepare more than 200 failure analyses. The preparation of failure analyses takes place among others for the following interested circles: producers and users of plastic parts, e.g. for the automotive industry, construction industry (e.g. distributors, suppliers), electrical and medical engineering and so on, producers of material and semi-finished products, welding, courts, insurance companies.

In more than 20 years SKZ has gained a wealth of experience in the field of failure analysis. However, unfortunately if a failure happens it is already too late or, to use an English phrase, “it’s too late to close the door after the horse has left the barn”. For this reason our Service division has included the development consulting service.

In addition to failure analysis and development consulting the third main pillar within the Service division is production consulting. Experienced SKZ specialists perform process analyses at the customert’s site in order to show optimization potential and accompany the implementation.
