Tree Risk Surveys, Assessment & Management

Trees situated close to property or on publicly accessible land present potential risk to both personal and public safety. Landowners are responsible for damage or injury caused by trees on their land and have a duty of care to prevent foreseeable harm occurring to people from any hazardous trees situated on their property. Trees need to be assessed regularly and managed to keep risks of causing harm or injury low.

Veteran Trees Surveys & Management

Veteran trees provide an abundance and continuity of specialist habitats for plant, insect and animal species, particularly in relation to dead wood. Landowners have a duty of care to protect the habitats of species designated for conservation priority.

Planning and Development Surveys and Assistance Services

All trees, regardless of their protected status, can be a material consideration in a planning application. The British Standard `Trees in relation to construction - Recommendations` BS5837:2012 recommends the steps that should be taken to ensure that trees are appropriately and successfully retained when a development takes place. This means that where there are trees either on site or within close proximity to the site the Local Planning Authority will consider them when making decisions on planning applications for that site and planning applications should follow the processes set out in BS5837:2012.
