CALL FOR PAPERSqua enviroTECHNOLOGY TRANSFER th16 EUROPEAN BIOSOLIDS AND ORGANIC RESOURCES CONFERENCE, SEMINAR AND EXHIBITION th th14 -16 NOVEMBER 2011 • THE ROYAL ARMOURIES, LEEDS, UK Supported by SORP SUSTAINABLE ORGANIC RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP for a better environment Media Partner Fantastic conference. High calibre people. Excellent staff support. I thought the conference this year was excellent. The technical content was diverse and interesting. It was an impressive event bringing together all segments of the industry in a structured environment This conference never fails to interest and is always first with the hot topics in the biosolids sector. www.european-biosolids.com thDEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS – 17 JUNE 2011 w w w .e ur o p ea n- b io so lid s. co m C A LL F O R P A P ER S Welcome Now in its 16th year, this event continues to attract the most authoritative experts in the area of biosolids and organic resource handling, treatment and recycling. Proceedings from previous events now form a reference point to trace the development of many mainstream processes from concept to full-scale operation. It also provides a legislatory update which not only outlines how existing regulations are being interpreted and applied, but also provides an early warning of potential future legislation which may impact on our existing recycling opportunities. The event is an opportunity to meet many of the most recognised names in biosolids handling, as well listen to presentations from younger practitioners who are following in their footsteps. It provides three days of in- depth discussions set in an informal environment with a wealth of social and networking opportunities. But the event is only as good as the papers that are presented and the organisers rely on the submission of high quality papers to put together a high quality event. We are inviting papers on all aspects of biosolids, including updates on technologies and issues associated with biodegradable organic wastes. As anaerobic digestion enters the mainstream as a technology for landfill diversion with energy recovery we will also be focussing on a number of areas around this technology that will be of increasing importance. Successful technical sessions from previous events have included: Potential authors have the opportunity to submit abstracts for presentation on topics of interest to the biosolids and organic resources community. We are particularly keen to encourage submissions from younger practitioners and those new to the biosolids arena. Sludge conditioning and novel conditioners Advances in thickening and dewatering technologies Dewatering liquor treatment and resource recovery Advanced digestion processes for enhancing energy recovery Energy from sludge Sludge rheology and its impact on downstream processing Future trends in anaerobic digestion – methane, hydrogen and solvents The future of co-digestion and the implications of the OFT study Optimising biomethane usage The likely impact of the RHI and novel technologies for heat recovery Digestate recycling routes and new opportunities for adding value to digestate What is on the horizon, the view from OFWAT, EU and the regulators If you are interested in contributing, all we need is a 150- word abstract that includes: Submitting an Abstract The title of the paper A summary of the contribution The key theme Author names & contact details for the corresponding author Please email all abstracts to Sarah – [email protected] by Friday 17th June 2011 Leeds is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city unrivalled as a shopping destination and centre for entertainment, the arts, museums, restaurants, pubs and clubs which means it's always a popular destination for both business and leisure.
