Description:Ethyl acetoacetate (Ethyl acetylacetate) is an ester widely used as an intermediate in the synthesis of many varieties of compounds. Ethyl acetoacetate is an inhibitor of bacterial biofilm.

In Vitro:Ethyl acetoacetate is a more efficient bacterial biofilm formation inhibitor than Acetoacetate, with a IC50 range of 0.31-5.6 mg/mL. It significantly reduces the growth activity and biofilm formation of Cronobacter sakazakii, Serratia marcescens, and Yersinia enterocolitica, showing potential for anti-infection applications[4].
