Description：Sinigrin is a major glucosinolate present in plants of the Brassicaceae family. Sinigrin inhibits early-stage adipogenesis of 3T3-L1 adipocytes through the AMPK and MAPK signaling pathways. Sinigrin has potent anti-oxidant, anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory effects.

In Vitro：Sinigrin (100 μg/mL; 24 H) arrestsd cells in the G0/G1phase of the cell cycle and increased the expression of p21 and p27[1]. Sinigrin (1-100 μg/mL; 8 days) remarkably inhibits the accumulation of lipid droplets and adipogenesis by downregulating the expression of C/EBPα, PPARγ, leptin and aP2. Sinigrin increases the phosphorylation of AMPK, MAPK and acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) in the early stage of adipocyte differentiation, suggesting that sinigrin has anti-adipogenic effects through AMPK, MAPK and ACC activation[1]. Sinigrin (1-100 μg/mL; 8 days) inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α and IL-6, IL-1β and IL-18[1].

In Vivo：Sinigrin (15-30 mg/kg; Oral administration; for 12 days) exerts protective and therapeutic effects on DSS‑induced colitis, by enhancing the anti-oxidant enzymes and suppressing the intestinal inflammatory cascade of markers by regulating the MAPK pathway[2].
