OPERATION
A.C. Filter is a manually operated carbon filteration Unit when raw water i.e, untreated water passes through a bed of activated Carbon down wardly, the organic substances is deposited on the bed and then treated water comes out. Only back washing is necessary for cleaning the bed.

When the raw water passes through the spray nozzle the soluble part of iron get oxidized by the oxygen of air and converted into insoluble part. Then the water percolates through the charged catalytic media through the stage bed and insoluble iron gets precipitated.Then the water passes through silver coated activated carbon beds where due to surface activity some very small pores are there.

Here some bio turbidities get arrested. Finally the water goes through the micro net filter where the bacteria whose size is more than 0.3 micron get arrested. Thus the crystal clear iron and major harmful bacteria free filter water comes out through the outlet.

Proper maintenance, viz. Rinsing. Back washing Servicing gives better quality of water. Once or twice back washing at regular interval ( 3 to 4 days ) is needed to clean the apparatus and increase its life.
