InvivoGen - Model Normocure -Antimicrobial Reagent
Normocure is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent highly effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Therefore, cell cultures contaminated with bacteria from the environment, such as Staphylococcus species and Achromobacter species , can be efficiently cured by Normocure™ treatment. Unlike most antibiotics used to treat cell cultures, such as Penicillin-Streptomycin, Normocure is also active against multidrug-resistant bacteria. Additionally, Normocure™ has been successfully used in primary cell cultures for contamination elimination to safely obtain induced pluripotent stem cells .
Normocure™ is provided as a ready-to-use solution (50 mg/ml). Simply add to contaminated cell cultures at the recommended concentration (100 μg/ml) for 2 weeks. After 3 passages, the bacterial contamination is completely eliminated.
