SentroBlender is a laboratory scale bin blender for very small blend sizes with integrated NIR port and all necessary controls.
NIR PAT methods development for powder mixing processes can be time consuming and expensive. The amount of API needed is proportional to the scale and the overall time needed for a normal bin blending process including preparation, discharging and cleaning can be quite long. SentroBlender helps shortening the development time to a minimum while at the same time the amount of material required is minimized. With batch sizes of only 50 – 100g a complete DoE with 30 – 40 different concentration levels can be finished within only 1-2 days. The system can be used with any Sentronic PAT NIR for container blending (SentroPAT BU and SentroPAT DA) The method transfer to large scale can be accomplished by adding a small number of data acquired at the larger scale into the NIR method. Due to the small size of the overall system it is possible to insert the system optionally into a glove box to allow handling of more potent products
The sample holder is designed for using a wide range of different sample bins or bottles. The holder can be pre adjusted to a given bin height. The sample containers are pressed against the sapphire window with a spring, enabling fast and easy replacement of samples. The 2" square bin is an available standard accessory.
One possible sample container is the 2" square bin that is available as accessory for the SentroBlender. Furthermore SentroBlender can be used with any bottle or sample container that does have a diameter of less than 124mm or length of 124x124 mm. The maximum height is 175mm.
The system can be operated at a speed of up to 60 rpm. A predefined position moves the SentroBlender with the sample down to exchange the sample. A second position is available to have the possibity to acquire a reference spectrum for the SentroPAT BU TL.
The configuration and control of the SentroBlender is done via a touch panel. The program used for the control is very intuitive and allows a quick and simple use of the system. During the blending process a counter displays the remaining time or remaining numbers of revolutions.
