The scale on the colostrum tester indicates the quality of the colostrum
- green zone (colostrum with a specific gravity of over 1045)
= good colostrum quality (sufficient antibody concentration) - light green zone (colostrum with a specific gravity between 1035 and 1045)
= colostrum quality is at the borderline ( supplement colostrum with BERGIN ® Globulac K !) - red zone (colostrum with a specific gravity below 1035)
= insufficient colostrum quality (protection gap must be closed with BERGIN ® Globulac K)
Use of the colostrum tester
- Fill the colostrum into the measuring cylinder provided. Make sure that the colostrum tester does not touch the bottom, even when the immunoglobulin concentration is at a minimum (see drawing).
Important: To measure accurately, the colostrum should be at approximately room temperature (22 °C).
If you only want to read the color scale, slight temperature differences will not affect the results. - Carefully immerse the colostrum tester in the colostrum until it floats freely. Please ensure that the non-immersed end remains dry.
- After the colostrum tester is floating, read either the measurement scale or the color scale on the tip of the colostrum tester. Please remove foam and dirt from the scale to avoid errors when measuring.
- After use, clean the colostrum tester with cold water to remove all colostrum residue to ensure accurate subsequent measurements.
Attention: This colostrum tester is made of glass and is fragile.
Please use it with caution!
