Model EDM -Density Meter
A new density meter from Schmidt and haensch offering exceptional range, speed and accuracy in a compact instrument with extensive data aquisition and processing options. The instrument uses the oscillating U tube method to determine the density of the sample. This method relies on the accurate measurement of the frequency of oscillation of the sample in a U tube. The sample is excited electronically (piezo elecric) so as to make the liquid oscillate - the frequency of oscillation is directly related to the density of the liquid. The accuracy of the measurement depends on the instruments ability to compensate for the sample viscosity, to maintain a stable temperature and to correct for the compliance of various instrumental parameters. In other words the engineering precision of the unit. Schmidt & Haensch have applied their engineering experience in polarimetry and refractometry to produce a density meter with outstanding performance.
The EDM series features two configurations depending on the accuracy required. The EDMs measure relative density and concentration of liquid samples. The instrument can be operated in stand alone mode or via a PC connection. An optional 7inch touch screen display enhances the user experience with an intuitive operator interface.
The EDMs can be operated in conjunction with our refractomers and polarimeters to make complex measurements such as determining the relative proportion of constituents in a mix by measuring both density and index - sugar in alchol for example.
