CECO ProBalance - Model Plus -Engine Balancing System
The ProBalance Plus system, developed by Compressor Engineering (CECO) in collaboration with Machinery Monitoring Systems (MMS), is an advanced solution designed to maintain balance in slow-speed, natural gas-fueled engines. This system continually monitors peak firing pressures across up to 20 cylinders, automatically adjusting the electronic Fuel Gas Modulators (eFGMs) to ensure consistent engine performance. Key features include automatic engine balancing, pressure deviation alarms, MODBUS communication, and a 7-inch touchscreen display. Engine Cylinder Modules (ECM) are installed at each cylinder, providing local parameter displays and pressure curve insights. The system simplifies the upgrade process for those with manual CECO FGMs by integrating eFGM actuators. Additionally, Snapshot Engine Balancer provides a portable, two-channel analysis tool for verifying ignition and balancing adjustments. With wireless communication, reports can be generated in PDF format for improved asset management.
Compressor Engineering (CECO) and MMS have collaborated to enhance the ProBalance system. The ProBalance Plus system makes keeping your slow-speed, natural gas-fueled engines in balance a snap! ProBalance Plus continuously monitors the peak firing pressures in up to 20 cylinders and automatically adjusts the electronic Fuel Gas Modulators (eFGMs) to maintain PFPs across the engine to a user-definable tolerance. The ProBalance Plus system generates an alarm if the engine is unbalanced or if any cylinder exceeds the user-definable PFP or standard deviation. The ProBalance Plus uses CECO-designed and manufactured eFGMs, which are based on their standard FGMs that have been in use for years. The eFGMs are available in several sizes from 1.5” to 2.5” NPT. If you have manual CECO FGMs installed, they can be upgraded by simply adding the eFGM actuator.

Furthermore, generating a PDF balance report is simple; merely click the "As-left" button on the Snapshot wireless tablet and select print, save, or email.
