Norfab - Model Supermort -Ensiler Machine
Morts are never welcome and handling them is an unpleasant chore, so you need an ensiler that allows you to handle a tote bin full in one go, without fuss. The NORFAB SUPERMORT does it. Once the morts are in the bin, it’s all over, nobody touches them again. Quick – clean – easy.
Our Supermort ensiler has been around for nigh-on twenty five years and still leads the market for simple and robust performance. We have improved some of the features of the original model, by adding such as fast, lever action valves; better tank entry glanding for the chopper pump cable and acid hose; valved quick-release acid hose connections; IBC top-entry acid feed to the dosing pump and total weather protection for the acid pump and controls. We have discontinued the manual acid pump as a standard feature, but it can still be fitted if required.
With our high average rainfall in the west of Scotland and the occasional gale to push it along, a constant battle against water ingress has been overcome by putting the control panel inside an IP65 enclosure and putting the acid pump in there with it. Cable and acid hose entries are through the bottom of the outer enclosure, so the electrics are kept clean, dry and well protected.
The use of DrumQuik® acid hose connections has been a major improvement in safety for changing acid IBCs or drums. Connecting and disconnecting the suction hose is now done with valved connectors that don’t drip when they are de-coupled. Using the replacement IBC cap we supply also means that there is no contact with formic acid when an empty IBC is replaced.
We can supply excellent quality used stainless steel tanks as part of a system to allow the Supermort tank to be discharged as required and have enough capacity to fill a road tanker in one trip.
Dealing with morts used to be one of the worst aspects of salmon farming. With a Norfab Supermort, now it’s not.
