Solartex - Expol Polystyrene Underfloor

This product has been specifically designed for insulating between the joists of timber floor homes and buildings, and can be fit to new homes or retro-fit.

 

Expol is perfect for homes with exposed timber floors, keeping draughts and moisture out and the heat in.  It is made from flame retardant polystyrene, is non-allergenic and non-irritant.  It has excellent thermal properties (R1.4) and will increase the insulation rating of your home, reducing costly energy bills by up to 12%.

 

The boards are 1.2m long and 55mm thick, and come in a four standard widths of 560mm, 470mm, 410mm and 360mm to fit between most joists.  They comply with the Australian and New Zealand Standard for insulation and Australian Standard for manufacture. 

 

Expol Wire Guard is available for wrapping around PVC cables before installing insulation.  Non corrosive nylon fixings with stainless steel nails should be used only where panels are loose or where the floors are subject to wind.
