GaiacodeModel SIGMA Standard -Force Balance Accelerometer

SHARE

The SIGMA force balance accelerometer from Gaiacode is engineered to offer an extensive frequency response ranging from DC to 400Hz, making it one of the best options for a wide array of applications in precision measurement. It features four remotely configurable saturation levels spanning from +/- 4g to +/- 0.5g, including options for lower configurations down to +/- 0.05g. The SIGMA is notable for its ease of installation, facilitated by a single point slotted base bolt and brass levelling feet that assure accurate placement and secure fastening. Its waterproof connectors are designed to withstand water exposure to depths of up to 2 meters, following IP68 standards. Additionally, the sensor's electronic circuit is protected against polarity reversal and voltage transients. The instrument is housed in a rugged, hard anodized aluminum case, with dimensions of 14 cm in diameter and 12.5 cm in height, and weighs 2.38 kg. Technical features include a dynamic range of over 170 dB at +/- 2g, cross-axis rejection greater than -70 dB, and an operating temperature from -20 to 75 degrees Celsius.

With a flat frequency passband from DC to 400Hz the SIGMA is a force balance accelerometer with one of the widest frequency responses currently on the market. It comes with four remotely configurable saturation levels between +/- 4g and +/- 0.5g. The SIGMA accelerometers are very easy to install. A single point slotted base bolt  ensures that the sensor will be fixed firmly to the installation point. Three levelling feet ensure that the sensor is levelled and locked to the installation bolt.

The unique design of the connector turret allows easy connection to the sensor. All the connectors are waterproof with O-ring seals to a water depth of up to 2 meters.

Instrument Design

  • Classical orthogonal sensor topology with sensor axes pointing in the three cardinal directions.
  • Fine pitched adjustable feet manufactured from brass.
  • All sensor components are made of non-magnetic materials, minimizing noise induced by outside magntic fields.
  • Single slotted base fixing point
