Meta holoOPTIX - Holographic Optical Components
holoOPTIX® holographic optical components are fabricated on META’s Holography platform. Interference patterns are recorded with a laser into a light-sensitive photopolymer material to form Volume Holographic Gratings (VHGs), which transmit or reflect light in various ways, depending on the geometric structure of the recorded pattern.
VHGs have a number of advantages in optical designs:
- Wavelength selective and angle specific, with high transparency
- High diffraction efficiency
- Thin (<100μm thick)
- Lightweight
- Complex and multiple optical functions
- Ready for integration
holoOPTIX holographic notch filters deliver high optical density and wavelength selectivity on various formats including film and glass. Notch Filters are Optical Filters that selectively reject a portion of the spectrum, while transmitting all other wavelengths. They are used in applications where it is necessary to block light from a laser, as in the machine vision application below, for example, and in confocal or multi-photon microscopy, laser-based fluorescence instrumentation, or other life science applications.
