Model Type ES 2000/7,5 -Material Hopper

SHARE

The operator of a facility for waste cable and electronic scrap preparation had a problem without a material hopper. He had to continually feed the pre-crusher at the 1. level small portions of the exact material amount, that the granulator of the waste cable or electronic scrap preparation facility could process. Only in this way it was warranted that the optimal transfer capacity could be reached.

If the pre-crusher operating personnel had to replace material containers or perform other necessary works on the facility, a spare worker had to fill the pre-crusher.

If this worker was not available, the entire facility had to run without material supply, which, in the worst case, resulted in a necessary correction of the bezels on the separating table that had previously been precisely adjusted, so allow no impurities into the metal contingent.

If the pre-crusher was re-filled and the facility again fed with sufficient material, the bezels at the separating table had to be corrected again, so expensive metal could not get into the waste contingent now.

All these tasks were tedious and caused, depending on frequency, a decrease of up to 50% in material in or output, due to an, at times, empty pre-crusher, and not only because a worker cannot fill the pre-crusher to the precise level optimal for the back-end facility. Also, the high current peaks of the facility are omitted, since portions that are too large cannot get into the facility anymore.

Additionally, the following economisation resulted in the area of the pre-crusher operating personnel:Since the pre-crusher can handle several times the material amount of the back-end facility, it is now possible to let one worker fill the pre-crusher until the material hopper is completely filled. Afterwards the worker is available for other tasks. The calculation would present itself as follows, depending on the efficiency of the granulating facility: Fill app. 2’000 kg material into the pre-crusher, Working time for this is app. 1/h. The facility now processes app. 200 – 900 kg/h. This would result in an operation time of app. 2.5 - 10/h where the back-end granulation facility could be procesing without constantly having to fill the pre-crusher. During this time the pre-crushing facility could be used for other crushing tasks. So it can easily be seen that the investment of a material hopper has paid off in the briefest of time.
