Midac - Compact FTIR Module
The MIDAC Illuminator is an ideal solution for dedicated instrumentation and custom sampling configurations. Adapting a conventional laboratory FTIR to these tasks can lead to compromises in performance, awkward and unreliable mechanical fixes, and costly instrument features you simply don`t use. The Illuminator eliminates all these problems. It`s a compact, high performance FTIR module that easily and efficiently integrates with sample interfaces in virtually any configuration.
- High performance 0.5 or 1.0 cm-1 interferometer
- Easily integrates into custom configurations
- Available with internal detector for emissions applications
- Compact, lightweight
- Rugged, reliable
Inside the standard Illuminator is a high energy, air-cooled source and the patented MIDAC interferometer. With a well earned reputation for resistance to low frequency vibration interference and the ability to operate reliably virtually anywhere in any orientation, the MIDAC interferometer is ideal for demanding applications. The Illuminator`s rugged, cast aluminum enclosure includes a single output port equipped with a windowed interface flange. This provides an exit for the collimated output beam while maintaining a sealed and fully purgeable instrument interior.
Couple the Illuminator with any external sample interface equipped with its own IR detector (like an FTIR microscope, reflectance system, or custom interface) to create a compact, dedicated instrument. Replace the standard output port with a fiber-optic coupling and add a fiber probe or other sampling device with an external detector for a rugged, flexible Near or Mid-IR workstation.
The compact Illuminator conveniently fits into NEMA enclosures where it can be used with an external detector module, (DTGS, MCT, or InSb), and your choice of sample interface for industrial applications. It is also used in systems that must be operated within fume hoods or isolation chambers. A single base plate is available for mounting the Illuminator together with a sample cell and detector module.
