GeoVista - Nitrate Probe

The Geovista Nitrate Probe logs a continuous profile of nitrate levels in the borehole. Nitrate contamination of groundwater is an important public health issue. Much of it is traced back to diffuse pollution from agriculture, and from sewage sludge disposal. The Geovista Nitrate Probe measures UV light attenuation by NO3 molecules to track the abundance of nitrate in the water column. This method is more reliable than the selective membrane method.
