MOTRIDAL - Pipe Conveyors
After the loading point, the belt is folded around the material and assumes a tubular shape along the whole length of both upper and return strand. Special hexagonal idler stations, installed on properly spaced panels, keep the round shape of the belt. Before the drive pulley the belt opens again and the material is discharged in the traditional way. Thanks to the complete enclosure of the belt, which prevents all types of material leakage, pipe conveyors are capable of both horizontal and vertical curves, negotiating obstacles and existing structures.

Thanks to the complete enclosure of the belt, which prevents all types of material leakage, pipe conveyors can make curves both horizontally and vertically, running along winding paths and going round obstacles and existing structures.
Pipe conveyors can make both horizontal and vertical curves. Thanks to this characteristic, a single pipe conveyor can replace two or more traditional conveyors, removing the need for transfer points with relevant steel structures, dust control systems, etc.

The belt of the pipe conveyor is folded into a dust-tight enclosure, which prevents material leakage and protects from external contaminations. The complete enclosure of the return strand guarantees a perfect cleaning along the whole length of the path and allows material transport in both directions.

Utilities such as a fire fighting system, cable trays, compressed air piping can be installed inside the self-supporting structure of the pipe conveyor.

The section of a pipe conveyor is smaller than the equivalent belt conveyor, therefore space requirements are minimum and weight of structures and gantries is lower.

The design of intermediate frames can be optimised in order to obtain long span sections between supports. Several solutions are applicable and the most complex long distance conveying situations are affordable, minimizing investment costs for related structures.

The bigger friction of material inside the tubular belt allows a higher angle of slope of the conveyor: a single pipe conveyor can replace the combination of belt conveyor and bucket elevator.
