Germann InstrumentsModel BOND-TEST -Pull-off Test System

SHARE

The BOND-TEST is an advanced device specifically designed to conduct pull-off tests in compliance with ASTM C1583, which measures the tensile strength of concrete surfaces and evaluates the bond strength or overlay materials using direct tension. The equipment features a disc that bonds to a prepared surface, and a partial core is cut around the disc, which is then pulled off using a handheld hydraulic pulling machine. The pulling force is registered by an electronic gauge that provides accurate readings of the pull-off strength. The BOND-TEST kit includes essential accessories such as a hydraulic pull machine with an electronic gauge, AMIGAS printout software, strength conversion table and manual, and various other tools necessary for comprehensive testing and analysis. This sophisticated system ensures reliable and precise measurements, making it an indispensable instrument for professionals working in concrete repair and construction quality assurance.

  • To evaluate the in-place tensile strength of concrete or other materials
  • To evaluate the effect of surface preparation procedures on the tensile strength of the substrate before applying a repair material or overlay
  • To evaluate the adhesion of diverse materials like metal plates, tiles, thick coatings, FRP’s, etc., on concrete or masonry surfaces
  • Battery powered handheld hydraulic pulling machine with robust steel-aluminum body
  • Digital display resolution = 0.1 kN
  • Maximum force: 100 kN (about 22 MPa for 75 mm discs)
  • Maximum stroke: 6 mm
  • Accuracy of measurements: < 2%
  • Operating conditions: -10 to 50°C, max. RH = 95%
  • Memory capacity: 512 measurements (peak-value, time and date of testing)
  • AMIGAS Software for PC communication and printout
  • Coefficient of variation of replicate test results for the pull-off test method = 8 – 10% for 75 mm discs and 14 – 16% for 50 mm discs
