PlanetDISK - Model RBC -Rotating Biological Contactor
PlanetDISK RBC Unit is a fixed film reactor system consisting of circular disks made of non-corrosive, virgin, High Density PolyPropylene (HDPP), mounted on a solid chrome-coated steel shaft rotating at a speed of less than 4 rpm (revolutions per minute, watch in presentation mode the above picture). During the rotation, 40% of the disks are immersed in wastewater. RBC process is widely used in the world since 1960s. Due to its simplicity in operation and energy saving mechanism, its popularity continues!

- Rotation of the rotor exposes biomass built up on “special surface” of disks to oxygen, allowing organisms grow and multiply. Dissolved oxygen and organic matter in wastewater populate the biomass to be metabolized.
