RadSurvey - Scintillation Detector
RadSurvey is a popular radiological mapping system. Simple to use, light weight and fully weather proof, the unit utilises state of the art Trimble GPS technology and a 3” NaI detector to obtain precise radiological mapping information. The system gives an unprecedented improvement in survey times over traditional systems. As well as being a very sensitive radiation monitor, the system has a powerful multi channel analyser mode (MCA), which can be used in the field (or spectrums can be saved for later analysis), the user can automatically snap the cursor to view peak energies and easily count over ROIs.
The system consists of a 3” (or 2”) NaI detector with an adjustable carrying handle and a powerful Trimble GeoXT handheld GPS/computer running the RadSurvey software (The Trimble GPS has very good sub metre accuracy).
RadSurvey gathers radiological information together with positional data (e.g. OSGB or Lat, Long), which is displayed on the screen and stored as a CSV (text) file on an SD card.
The data can later be transferred to a PC with all popular GIS mapping software, to produce a visual radiological survey map, which can be used in reports.
