AqualterSolar Sludge Drying System

SHARE

AQUALTER has been developing its own solar drying technique with a heated floor since 2003. More reliable and more cost-effective to operate than the competitors’ solutions, this technique brings the sludge to over 80% dryness rate. The sludge is dried all year round with minimum energy input thanks to a heat pump fed by the temperature of the sewage treated by the plant. This prevents fermentation phenomena in winter and potential unpleasant odors. The process has been improved over the years. A patent was filed in 2010 for the TERSOLAIR process, which combines ventilation close to the sludge bed with the solar energy and heated floor, thus significantly improving the system yield.
