Ravensgate - Model 300 -Sonic Water Level Measuring Device

SHARE

Ensure an accurate well measurement with the Model 300 water level measuring device from Ravensgate Corporation in Ridgecrest, California. Uses acoustic air signals to measure the depth of the well. Adjustable temperature setting for sound velocity variation.

The SONIC method utilizes the air in a well to transmit an acoustic signal to the water surface, rather than introducing foreign objects into the well. Simply insert the measuring duct into the access port in the well cap, making sure the measuring duct extends completely through the well cap. Then just press the red “POWER ON” button, and the water level will be displayed after the first “ping,” typically. If an inaccurate reading is received, then the initial depth setting may have been incorrect. If so, simply change the depth setting and press the “POWER ON” button again, and the meter will provide a new reading.

Regional maps (USA only) and temperature tables for both Fahrenheit and Celsius are provided with each meter. For USA owners, the regional maps are divided into sections for your state. First, locate the region where the well is located on the state map. Next, use the corresponding regional number on the table to find the temperature setting for the appropriate month. Map tables may not be useful in regions with geothermal activity or anomalous subsurface conditions. For owners outside the USA (and for those with geothermal or anomalous conditions), it is necessary to know the well water temperature and the monthly average temperature in order for the meter to provide the most accurate reading.

For the best accuracy, it is necessary to compensate for the variation of sound velocity with well air temperature. Just simply adjust the temperature by using the “TEMP” toggle switch; pressing the switch up will raise the temperature and down will lower it. The device keeps track of the most recent setting.

The DEPTH switch optimizes the measuring capability for deeper wells. In the “normal” setting, the measurement range is 10 to 500 feet (3 to 150m). For the “Deep” setting, the measurement range is 200 to 1200 feet (60 to 350m).

How does our Sonic Water Level Meter work? Our Sonic Water Level Meter sends sound waves down into a well casing or borehole that is hard to access because of a crooked pipe, narrow tube, or other obstacles. When the sound waves bounce off the water’s surface, they return to the meter duct. The time traveled by the sound waves is measured and analyzed, and the data is displayed on the LCD screen as feet or meters.

Fast and accurate water level measurements in seconds, without downhole probes or transducers.
