Sussman - Automatic Blowdown System

The heart of the system uses a stainless steel, motor-driven, straight-through, self cleaning ball valve for boiler water blowdown. An electronic unit and timer controls the ball valve and boiler. Pilot lights indicate when the drain valve is open or closed and when the boiler is on or off. The system can be overridden manually anytime. An Automatic Blowdown System may be installed on any steam boiler, regardless of size or operating duty cycle. The system, when factory installed, further saves field costs and prolongs the life of the heating elements.
