1960

José Luis Martínez Costas, founder of Talleres Josmar, S.L.

Orphaned at the age of 7, he embarked on a Pescanova (Vigo) fishing vessel when he reached adulthood.

After several years at sea, he discovered the importance of processing in the fishing industry.

With a brilliant mind and a restless, entrepreneurial spirit, he decided to return to shore to work for a company dedicated to manufacturing fish-processing machinery, where he acquired extensive knowledge that he would soon put into practice.

1976

In 1976, the company Talleres Josmar, S.L. was founded, driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of José Luis Martínez Costas.

In its early days, the company focused exclusively on repairing machinery for fish-processing businesses in the Vigo area.

Soon thereafter, it ventured into manufacturing its own equipment with original designs that revolutionized the industry at that time.

1985

After years of specialization, growth, and international expansion, the company evolved into the Josmar Group, establishing presence in the following strategic locations:

Josmar Hispano-Argentina – Argentina
Josmar Namibia – Namibia

Today, its machines operate on five continents and enjoy the prestige and recognition of thousands of satisfied clients.

1998

In 1998, José Luis and his son, Luis Alejandro Martínez Montes, founded Ingeniería de Proyectos Marinos, S.L. (INPROMAR), specializing in the development of complete and integrated solutions for the fish-processing industry, both for onshore plants and fishing fleets.

Within a few years, the company’s activities expanded into other sectors such as poultry, horticulture, and fruit processing.

Today, INPROMAR’s prestige is well established, and it has become one of the leading companies in the sector internationally.

2011

On April 11th, 2011, José Luis Martínez Costas (Gondomar, 1942), founder of Talleres Josmar, S.L., passed away, leaving the company in the hands of his children, who continue following the upward path he forged.

He leaves behind a great legacy of experience, knowledge, and affection, passed on to the next generation so they may continue the work he began.

2018

Since October 2018, the company designs and builds part of its equipment in new 2,300 m² facilities, strategically located near Vigo airport and the Atlantic Highway.

The expansion of these facilities provides the necessary capacity to meet the market growth experienced in recent years, enabling the construction of larger machinery and the pre-assembly of complete processing lines.

This new building also includes spacious offices to accommodate the growing team of design engineers, automation specialists who recently joined the company, and the full team of project engineers who provide consultancy services for all types of projects. As a result, JOSMAR® guarantees the highest quality, profitability, care, and service for its clients.

2019

In October 2019, Luis Alejandro Martínez Montes, Chairman of the Board of the Josmar Group and CEO of INPROMAR, S.L., unified all entities under a single brand: JOSMAR®.
