Traceability and Transparency
Greentec does not ship electronic waste to landfills nor to developing countries. Though illegal, much of the world’s e-waste ends up in developing countries where it is often broken down using unsafe methods that put workers’ health at risk and destroy the ecosystem.
Materials are traced from the point of pick-up to the final destination where they are turned into new products. E-waste is processed at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario using our proprietary material recovery system, where it is broken down and separated into recyclable commodities such as metals, plastics and glass. These commodities are sent to qualified downstream processors who use them to manufacture new products. We perform downstream due diligence audits to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and conformance to Electronic Recycling Standards.
