Filter Weighings Services
METLAB support external air testing laboratories with pre-weighted sampling filters. After sampling the filters are sent back for the final weighing resultating in a accredited weighing report that is sent to the customer. The report includes presentation of the two weighing results, the weight difference as the sampled amount of dust together with the weighing uncertainty.
The weighing follows the standard EN 13284-1with filter conditioning at 180 °C before pre-weighing and at 160 °C before final weighing. Both weighings normally includes both a lab blank filter and a field blank filter. Normally each series of samplings also includes a rinsing solution of water and acetone for probe dust deposits. The solution is evaporated in a pre-weighted stainless steel container and the residue is determined gravimetrically.
