As of December 2021, KleanTu® has installed over 30 NitROE® WWTS with flow rates for domestic wastewater ranging from 330 to 6,000 gallons per day. Additional NitROE® installations are planned for the Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard regions of Massachusetts in 2022, with operations expected to expand outside of these areas in the near future.

KleanTu® has collaborated with the following Massachusetts organizations during the pilot through provisional permit stages to develop, optimize and implement the technology at certain locations.  The NitROE® units are currently being installed under a provisional permit from the Massachusetts DEP:

  • Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Test Center (MASSTC)
  • Town of Tisbury, MA
  • Barnstable Clean Water Coalition (BCWC)
  • Island Housing Trust (IHT), Martha’s Vineyard
  • Buzzards Bay Coalition (BBC)
  • Boards of Health for various municipalities and other Martha’s Vineyard/Cape Cod organizations
