RO System Maintenance Services

Watercore offers preventative maintenance agreements to ensure that your Reverse Osmosis and pre/post treatment systems are operating at the highest performance. 

Our service team will define and implement a fully customized preventative maintenance schedule that will be specifically designed for your reverse osmosis plant.

Watercore will look after the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of your reverse osmosis water treatment plant and will make sure that your RO system is monitored in real-time. 

Performance reports and optional improvements will be provided after each service.

Many tasks are critical for the performance of the system and to keep total operating costs, including membrane cleanings and replacements, to a minimum:

• Daily logs: collecting data is perhaps the most important aspect of any RO maintenance plan. Without data, there is no way to determine the conditions of the membranes.
• Normalization : once the RO system has reached equilibrium, which could take up to 4 to 6 weeks, normalization can be done on a weekly schedule.
• Mass balance: is an effective way to troubleshoot an RO system to determine whether species are being deposited on the membranes.
• Check cartridge filters: cartridge prefilters should be checked every second week for pressure drop across them and to be sure they are seated properly. 
  Clean and calibrate critical sensors: Critical instruments include the ORP and pH sensors used to make sure the RO feed water is acceptable.
• Clean and calibrate all sensors : instruments must be calibrated on a regular basis. Improper sensor readings will present a false picture as to how the RO system is functioning.
• Calibrate chemical feed pumps: chemical dosing systems should be calibrated on a regular basis to make sure the required dosage of chemical is being fed.
• Check pretreatment unit operations: the integrity of filters, water softeners, tanks, and other pretreatment systems should be checked. Performance of each should also be evaluated and modifications made as required.
• Membrane cleaning: RO membranes should be cleaned based on normalized performance. Cleanings should not be more frequent than every three months if the pretreatment system is adequate. RO systems with more frequent cleanings could benefit from upgrades to the pretreatment system.
