Through Metizoft Enviro`s HazMat Survey / IHM Inspection we`ll perform an inspection on-board vessels to compile an IHM report that lays the foundation for a ship`s Inventory of Hazardous Materials.
During the inspection we`ll take physical and visual samples of ship components that may contain hazardous substances. The physical samples will be tested at a certified lab.

Our Inspectors
Our inspectors / surveyors work very closely with the ship`s crew and the Classification societies, ensuring that the shipowner not only complies with the regulations (EU Ship Recycling Regulation (EU SRR), the EMSA Guidance on the Inventory of Hazardous Materials, the Hong Kong Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, and the IMO MEPC.269(68)) but also has an accurate overview of hazardous materials on-board.
Besides complying to the regulations, we also see an increasing number of shipowners engaging Metizoft to perform the IHM inspections for their vessels prior to scrapping. This demonstrates their effort towards a safer and greener way of scrapping a vessel.
An IHM certificate is valid for five years at a time, given that the IHM is being continuously updated and maintained. An IHM provides an inventory of hazardous materials contained in a ship`s structure or fittings, together with details of their location and quantities.
IHM Life Cycle Solution
Through IHM Life Cycle Solution we provide a turnkey IHM (Inventory of Hazardous Materials) / Green Passport solution for shipowners that has been approved by DNV GL, ABS, Lloyd`s Register, BV, Class NK, RINA and Korean Register.
We perform both the IHM inspection as well as keeping the IHM up to date throughout the ship`s life cycle, using state-of-the-art software. Such maintenance of the IHM is mandatory for all ships that carry an IHM.

Our Chemical System provides chemical users, the administrators and their employers a helpful aid for total chemical control. As an employer, you will have the opportunity to outsource the demanding process of keeping all documentation, storage and registers up to date, as Metizoft does the work for you. The system is in accordance with The Norwegian Maritime Authorities, "Regulation concerning the working environment, health and safety of persons working on board ships".
In addition to ensure the health of the crew, the Chemical System serves as documentation for a possible occupational injury allowance should a person become ill or injured. For some exposures, the register is required to be available for up to 60 years from the exposure. The software operates offline when necessary and provides vital information available at all times.

Our trained HazMat Experts assist with asbestos management and removal when needed. We can also provide your vessels with asbestos-free declarations and supporting documentation through our Non-Asbestos Supplier List. Such documentation is a requirement for all new-buildings, repairs and conversions on or after 1 July 2012 according to the SOLAS Convention.
We`ll update the Non-Asbestos Supplier List throughout each vessel`s life cycle, ensuring that your vessels during inspections can always document that the parts covered by the SOLAS Convention are in line with the regulation.
