Where decades ago a sewer line made sense, today there is perhaps the need for a gas pipeline. In these scenarios, existing pipe material only rarely is directly suited for the new intended use. Be it that the material does not withstand the required pressure, is not resistant against the new medium or simply is leaky. Primus Line® is the ideal solution here. With it, nearly every pipe or conduit can be turned into a pressurised pipe for ...

Airports place high demands on their infrastructure, especially when it comes to maintaining critical pipe networks such as fuel, kerosene or fire water pipes. The Primus Line® system is ideal for airport operations. Underground pipe networks at airports are often difficult to access as they pass under runways, taxiways or asphalt surfaces. ...

Being generally in good condition, a lot of bridge pipelines suffer from corrosion and are therefore no longer capable of carrying the pressure load. In addition, preventative maintenance of these pipes is recommended to protect the bridge construction. ...

Many sewer rising mains have several things in common: They are a critical asset to the owner, as it is often complicated to divert the flow for an extended period of time. The accessibility to the pipe is often difficult, as the mains run through densely populated or environmentally sensitive areas or under creeks and main roads. ...

They transport brine or process water and are often rated to a design pressure of over 16 bar. As these pipelines are a substantial component to a respective production process of the asset owner, downtimes have to be kept to a minimum. Due to the strength of the aramid reinforcement, the Primus Line® system can be used to rehabilitate industrial pipes that are rated to a design pressure of 16 bar and above despite the low wall thickness of the liner. ...

Drinking water pipes underneath roads pose several challenges: open-trench replacement is not feasible since road closures affect people’s daily lives for a long period of time until the works have been carried out. In addition, there is significant cost for surface restoration. In case of railway crossings, permits from the railway operator need to be obtained in order to work within the railway corridor. These pipes are often laid with bends, even multiple sharp bends that change direction. Furthermore, ...

Vertical pipelines are often installed in chambers and tunnels of limited accessibility, which makes the use of heavy machinery either impossible or exceptionally expensive and time consuming. Due to its low weight, the flexible Primus Liner can easily be dragged by hand over long distances to the designated pipeline and be fed manually top to bottom into the existing pipe. Only a small compressor will be necessary to inflate the pre-folded liner after the installation. ...

Port facilities are part of the critical infrastructure where reliability and efficiency take centre stage. With the Primus Line® system, we offer an ideal solution for the trenchless rehabilitation and optimisation of pipelines in this demanding environment. Our technology enables the fast and cost-effective rehabilitation of pressurised pipe systems in hard-to-access areas such as quays or in sensitive environments such as pipelines laid in ...

The concept can be simply described as a “pipe in a pipe”. If the inner pipe is damaged, there is another pipe around that collects any leaking fluids and prevents them from escaping into the environment. Primus Line® offers numerous advantages over conventional pipes in this field of application. Installing the liner in a pressure pipeline is easier and faster. ...

Since the early 1990s, water consumption in most industrial nations has dropped significantly. Water pipelines often are older and have been designed for higher capacities. The consequence: Flow velocity in the pipes is decreasing. If it becomes too low, the water possibly stands still for too long. Particularly for drinking water pipelines, high hygiene standards apply, however. A targeted reduction of a pipe’s cross-section can remedy the situation. With volume staying the same, a reduced diameter ...

The "dirty" steam produced from geothermal ground applications is a difficult measurement due to high temperatures and fluctuating pressures in large pipes. Fortunately, our insertion multivariable mass vortex technology is an ideal solution. Sierra mass vortex flow meters offer direct mass flow with multivariable capability and handle high temperatures and pressures. Sierra also manufactures ultrasonic flow meters as well as flow switches for accurate liquid ...

In ageing plants, however, the smooth operation of these fire water mains is often affected by corrosion and pipe degradation. Failures may have catastrophic consequences, making maintenance of these assets indispensable. The rehabilitation of fire water mains often poses great challenges for the operator: High pressure rates of up to 16 bar, accessibility of the line through overlapping other pipes and power cables, encasement in concrete and, above all, safety ...

City centres – as different as they may look around the world, they all share a few common problems: traffic congestion, high population and air pollution are just a few of them. Therefore, open trench work such as the rehabilitation of a crucial pipeline can give rise to substantial challenges. Not only do such large-scale projects contribute to the frustration of commuters and residents alike, additional noise and CO2 emissions also have the potential to tremendously aggravate pre-existing health ...

In order to install a new drinking water pipe under a water way, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) can be a suitable method. However, if there is already an existing pipe that needs renovation, significant cost and time savings can be realised by using relining methods like Primus Line®. By using the existing pipe, geotechnical and hydrogeological issues are eliminated and construction risk is minimised. The pipes are often characterised by long lengths with bends in the pipe route and are only accessible ...
