Microorganism and bacteria control is increasingly an important topic of discussion in the oil and gas industry. Inadequate disinfection and treatment of well injection water and stimulation fluids, used in the recovery of oil and gas has been proven to lead to a host of negative consequences, including: - Souring the well with hydrogen sulphide gas H2S, Microbiological induced corrosion, Loss of fluid stability during injection., Plugging of the well, Damage of equipment and components (e.g. RO membranes, ...

Advanced UV Treatment for Blow Out Preventer (B.O.P.) Control & Operation Hydraulic Fluids fluids atg UV Technology have successfully completed pilot trials to prove the effectiveness of UV disinfection in treating hydraulic fluids used for subsea B.O.P. (Blow Out Preventer) control and operation. UV light is a chemical-free, physical disinfection technique that is widely used throughout the offshore sector for applications such as potable water disinfection, RO membrane protection and for the reduction of ...

Before natural gas or oil is transported through new pipelines, the entire length of the pipeline assembly is pressure tested using either fresh water or seawater, and is the final construction ‘quality assurance’ test before the pipeline is put into operation. The pressure test is held for a specific amount of time, from between 1 day and 100 days, to ensure structural integrity before the pipeline is placed into ...

In industrial cooling towers, bacterial growth on surfaces (biofilm) causes serious problems, both contributing to the deterioration of materials and, most important, increasing the risk of harmful microbiological contaminations (e.g. Legionella pneumophila). For these reasons, large amounts of chemical substances (biocides) are used to limit microbiological growth in such ...

In industrial cooling towers, biofilm growth can cause serious problems, both contributing to the deterioration of materials and, most important, increasing the risk of harmful microbiological contaminations (e.g. Legionella). For these reasons, large amounts of chemical substances (biocides) are used to limit microbiological growth in such systems. The manager of this cooling tower planned to automatically dose chlorine continuously (24/7) in the water; later on, he decided to install an ALVIM probe in the plant, ...

In a heat exchanger, a major component of any power plant, a 20 microns thick bacterial layer (biofilm) can cause a 30% decrease in thermal efficiency: biofilm, indeed, is up to 4 times more insulating than calcium carbonate scale. Moreover, biofilm can increase inorganic fouling, producing sticky substances that increase particles adhesion. For these reasons, large amounts of chemical substances (biocides) are used to limit microbiological growth in such systems. The manager of this power plant decided to install ...

Even when it has not been created by pathogenic bacteria, biofilm is the ideal environment for the survival and growth of pathogens, includingLegionella pneumophila. It is well known that such bacteria do not usually form biofilms by themselves, but they are commonly found in biofilms made by other bacteria. This kind of environment greatly increases Legionella possibility of survival and growth. Thus, the best way to prevent Legionella outbreaks is limiting biofilm ...

When the use Angiodroid The CO2 Injector is safe and effective; As is increasingly demonstrated, the use of CO2 as a Contrast Agent can bring considerable advantages in many types of intervention in the field of Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Interventional Angiology and Vascular Surgery. Because of its Gas Properties, Carbon Dioxide infact can be injected into each lumen structure (arterial, venous, biliary tract, abscesses, fistulas) below the diaphragm. It is especially indicated for ...

After an EVAR or PEVAR procedure, you will be given pain medication if needed and will be able to gradually get out of bed, walk, and eat solid foods. You may feel well enough to resume your normal activities in 4 to 6 weeks. Endovascular repair means you will need regular follow up visits with your doctor: a month afterward, at six months, and each year following your procedure. The visits will include a physical exam and an ultrasound, CT scan, or angiography to check for any ...

Treating metalworking wastewater means the separation of oils, heavy metals and suspended solids, water reuse, disposal costs reduction and sustainability improvement. Mechanical workshops generate effluents containing lubricating oils with significant levels of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), hydrocarbons, metals and suspended solids. These workshop wastewaters may come from a variety of operations such as cutting and drilling, molding, cleaning of mechanical parts, paint shops, maintenance, drainages from settling ...

We adapted an autologous ex-vivo gene therapy method to load the patient’s own TEMs precursors, that are hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), with an immunotherapeutic transgene sequence. By re-introducing gene-modified HSPCs into the patient, we seek to take advantage of the self-renewing and multi-differentiation capability of HSPCs to enable durable and potentially long-term effects following a single ...

PROCESS INFORMATION: In the production of Nylon filaments, polymer is melted and then pumped through a sand filter to a spinnerette. The filaments formed by the spinerette are cooled and solidified by air, before going to a humidifying chamber to stabilise the length of the spun polymer. The yarn filaments are then lubricated by a finishing agent and then stretched or ‘drawn’ to a desired diameter before being wound onto a ...

TenCate Geotube technology is used for agriculture applications to reduce the waste in lagoons and utilize the contained nutrients for crops. This dewatering technology reduces the lagoon size by 50%, reduces labor and energy for land application by 50-70%, stores contained nutrients until needed for crops, provides higher quality flush water and reduces the odor and insect problems normally encountered. Over time, these solids dry in the dewatering containers, making the contained nutrients easier to transport ...
