INTRODUCTION High mercury concentration can be found in such cosmetic products as skin lightening soaps and creams, makeup cleansing products, and mascara. Mercury in cosmetics exists as inorganic and organic compounds. Inorganic mercury (e.g. ammoniated mercury) is used in skin lightening soaps and creams. Organic mercury compounds, such as thiomersal, are used as cosmetic preservatives in makeup cleansing products and ...

Environments with an excess of suspended particles and/or contaminating gasses in the air may be unhealthy and might even cause harmful effects, increasing the risk of developing illnesses. To address these risks, vast numbers of public installations and buildings must provide air filtration solutions to ensure a high quality of air inside the building to safeguard the health and comfort of the ...

INTRODUCTION Mercury and its compounds are highly toxic substances fo r humans. It occurs naturally and exists in various forms: elemental (or metallic); inorganic (e.g. mercuric chloride); and organic (e.g., methyl- and ethylmercury). These forms all have different toxicities and implications for health. Among naturally occurring mercury compounds, methylme rcury exerts a significant influence (neurotoxic action) on human ...

Introduction A conventional standard method of total mercury det ermination in water using atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) involves preliminary sample digestion that ta kes from 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on the digestion conditions. The use of a mercury analyzer RA-915M/RA-915+ with Zeeman background correction in combination with PYRO-915+ pyrolysis attachment provides direct dete rmination of mercury in process and waste waters contaminated with mercury without digesti on or any other sample ...

Port environments can be particularly exposed to air pollution, both in gaseous form and as particles. The ships are an obvious source, but both activities related to the unloading and loading of goods and land traffic to and from the ports can also contribute. Monitoring the concentration of air pollutants can be done both in order to monitor the environment in general and to map the sources. In the case of emissions from ships, it may be of particular interest to monitor sulfur dioxide (SO2) levels near the ...

The environment is increasingly affected by the pollutant concentration such as nitrogen and sulfur oxides in the atmosphere, or particles from industrial activities. In order to understand how best to improve our air quality, many smart cities have been engaged in monitoring air quality. ECOMESURE offers instruments that measure and analyse the air quality, as well as the proportion of polluting particles and gases in the ...

CFCs are used in the manufacture of insecticides and herbicides and the environmental impact of their use must be well controlled. The treatment of CFC emissions to reduce the emissions in the intermediary steps of production needs to be monitored with 100% efficiency. Protea’s portable CFC analysers and continuous CFC monitoring systems can be configured with various sample inlets and analytical modelling to enable multi-samples to be measured on the one system. This means that both inlet and outlet to ...

Within the industrial sector there are specific installations which should pay maximum attention to the protection of their control rooms against corrosion. This is because their activities generate highly corrosive gasses which need to be eliminated in case they affect the functioning of critical electrical equipment. This corrosion compromises the efficiency and safety and can affect the production process ...

There are ever more uses of water in human activities that require its subsequent purification. Of this, treating this water in waste water treatment plants (WWTP) before releasing it into the ecosystem is in rising demand. Additionally, there is also an increasing need to treat solid waste in rubbish tips to minimise environment impact in this ...

The emission challenge is significant to ETG Risorse e Tecnologia. For years it has been engaged in providing instrumentation and support to authorities and companies operating in the environmental sector. Climate change is a scientifically established reality, as is its anthropogenic origin; emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere are one of its leading causes. Their monitoring - in addition to being mandatory - allows their level to be kept under control. ETG fully supports the Green Deal and the European ...
