In 1998 Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia and home to over 1.5 million people, was running out of water. To avert the looming crisis, the NRW-PBC project was implemented. With a pilot phase (Phase 1) this ran for 18 months with a target to reduce NRW by some 18.5 MLD. After successful implementation of this phase, the contractor was awarded phase 2, which had an implementation period of 9 years and a target to save 198.9 MLD.

The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian Statesman and Independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel, (1875 -1950). Patel was highly respected for his leadership in uniting the 562 princely states of India to become the single Union of India. Announced in 2010, the statue is the world`s tallest at 240 metres and was built to withstand winds up to 180 km per hour and earthquakes up to 6.5 on the Richter scale. The project took 57 months to complete at a cost of US $540 Million.
