Keefer Ecological Services Ltd. (KES) was incorporated in January 2008 under the laws of British Columbia. Prior to incorporating, KES has operated as a self proprietorship since 2005. KES has established relationships with other highly qualified consultants that it engages on a regular basis, including efficient, top quality and highly experienced tree planters mostly local to the West Kootenays. KES provides a variety of ecological services. Michael Keefer is recognised as one of the regions’ foremost experts on botany and the uses of native plants for medicine, food, ecological restoration and other uses. KES has particular expertise in: vegetation sampling, rare plant inventory and recovery work, berry management, ethnobotany, revegetation using native species, and ecosystem restoration and reclamation. KES leads research on a variety of topics, including: non-timber forest product values, uses, management and commercialization, native plant revegetation and xeriscaping, fuels man
