Sidcon
In 2008, after being approached by the city of Arnhem and Circulus (a waste-collection company), Reinier Siderius and Boris Gubbels started designing an underground compactor. Both Arnhem and Circulus were in search of a solution to make the collection of plastic waste more efficient. Whilst the volume of plastic is large, its weight is small. When this waste is compressed, the result is a more compact waste. After various prototypes, the underground compactor, as we now know it, was born. It is a product which looks like a standard underground container so that it can be easily installed without any modifications being required by the waste collector. Nevertheless, with an increased capacity. After the success of this underground compactor, new versions were made available for residual household waste, as well as paper and cardboard.
